Emphasis is given to strategy, initiation, planning, work breakdown structure, execution, and closeout phases of an IT project, and how these tasks support the entire project team including the project manager and the solution designer. Students learn foundational elements of enterprise analysis, requirements gathering and documentation, project assessment and project closeout. Students develop techniques and methods for eliciting, documenting, organizing, and managing the requirements for an IT project. In particular, students learn process optimization and workflow modeling techniques, and emphasis is placed on the Unified Modeling Language, activity diagram notations, sequence diagramming and use-case diagrams.

Classes at the University’s downtown Harrisburg campus are offered in an 8-week accelerated format, allowing participants to complete the program in nine months. Tuition deferral is available for participants using employee tuition reimbursement plans.
