Project Management Master of Science

The M.S. degree in Project Management at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology provides a comprehensive focus on critical project management skills for IT managers. The 36-credit-hour degree program covers essential skills and topics including procurement and risk management, to systems integration and organizational leadership. Additionally, the curriculum has received Registered Education Provider (REP) status through the Project Management Institute (PMI®), providing preparation for the nationally recognized PMP certification.

The PMP credential is recognized as the most important certification for project managers. It is globally acknowledged, in heavy demand, and highly sought after by corporations and individuals alike. A Project Management Professional designation demonstrates that you have not only the experience but also the education to successfully lead and direct projects. The PMP credential is for experienced project management professionals, as the qualifications and testing for this certification are rigorous, as are the required continuing education requirements. All of these factors ensure that the PMP credential is widely respected. The PMP experience and exam requirements focus on five process groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Controlling, and Closing. Salary for those with a PMP certification according to a recent survey by Global Knowledge, is $105,750.

Specialized Graduate Certificates in Project Management

To provide business and information technology professionals with the skills to plan, manage, and evaluate technology projects successfully, Harrisburg University of Science and Technology has developed three, graduate-level certificates applicable to a variety of project types. Within the University’s graduate program in Project Management, individuals can enroll in one of the following graduate certificates: Managing Software Development Projects (18 credits); Business Analysis for Project Management (12 credits); IT Project Management Certificate (12 credits).
