IT Project Management (M.S.)

 

Project Management has developed into a core business competency, and professionals with project management skills are currently highly sought among employers. Many top corporations and government agencies are establishing special project management divisions. Whatever the venture, project management skills are essential in ensuring that a job is completed successfully, on time and to budget. Our exclusive Master's Degree provides a comprehensive focus on critical project management skills for IT managers. The 30-credit-hour degree program covers essential skills and topics including procurement and risk management, to systems integration and organizational leadership. Additionally, the curriculum has received Registered Education Provider (REP) status through the Project Management Institute (PMI®), providing preparation for the nationally recognized PMP certification.

The curriculum is designed around the core skills for project management, with an emphasis on application in the IT industry. Yet, the core skills and knowledge are transferrable across any industry. This 30-credit-hour degree provides students with a sound, working understanding of the principles of project management and the skills essential for a successful career in project management.

The PMP® designation following your name tells current or potential Information Technology employers that you have demonstrated a solid foundation of knowledge in the field.

Classes are scheduled in the evening for adult learners and working professionals. Plus, your employer tuition reimbursement goes further at HU, too. We allow to you to defer your tuition payment until the end of the semester through our Employer Deferred Tuition program.

Specialized Graduate Certificates in IT Project Management

To provide business and information technology professionals with the skills to plan, manage, and evaluate technology projects successfully, Harrisburg University of Science and Technology has developed three, graduate-level certificates applicable to a variety of project types. Within the University’s graduate program in IT Project Management, individuals can enroll in one of the following graduate certificates: Managing Software Development Projects (18 credits); Business Analysis for Project Management (12 credits); IT Project Management Certificate (12 credits).
