Project Leadership

Applying leadership to Strategy, People, Climate in Project & Program Management

2010 Case Studies

"Leadership is not magnetic personality, that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not "making friends and influencing people", that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations."

— Peter F. Drucker

In some projects, the leader makes all the difference.

Case study sessions examine an actual project and explore the leadership best practices that significantly contributed to the project’s success.  Led by stakeholders from the project, case studies provide participants with an in-depth analysis of the challenges, opportunities and lessons learned brought to life through their project. Case studies also provide a group forum to dissect the lessons illustrated by the project and talk through their application in other scenarios.

Unlike some conferences, the Project Leadership Forum is highly interactive and engaging. During the case study sessions participants connect with a diverse set of peers through group discussion of the issues presented in the case. Led by experienced project managers, these sessions facilitate a lively dialogue that brings to bear the collective knowledge and expertise of the group, and sheds light on the important leadership considerations that should be explored in every project. Participants will take away strategies and approaches that were used successfully in other projects, and will have identified opportunities to use these approaches in their own projects.
