The City is Your Campus

Our location in dynamic downtown Harrisburg connects you to a diverse and exciting community that we think you will love to call home. Money Magazine rates Harrisburg as one of the nation’s top “Up and Coming Cities” and the area is ranked 12th in the “Best Places to Live” category by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance. You can see all the places to visit, things to do, and exciting happenings on our “city campus” by clicking the website www.Spotobe.com.  With so much going on, it’ll be hard not to over-schedule yourself.

Recreation

Strawberry Square is the student center. The Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts provides auditorium space and numerous cultural events. Restaurant Row and City Island provide countless dining, shopping, sporting and socializing events. The scenic nature areas along the nearby Susquehanna River offer a relaxing escape from classes and are the site for local concerts, art festivals, and shows. You can also tour Harrisburg’s many historic museums, workout at the local fitness clubs, visit the theatres or take in a minor league baseball game. Our location puts you close to hockey arenas, ski resorts and amusement parks, too.

Student Clubs and Organizations

You can participate in clubs or activities or create your own organizations and events. Indulge your interests, meet other students and get involved. Your fellow students are a resource for the surrounding community through volunteerism, involvement in social and cultural programs, and civic leadership.

Harrisburg Young Professionals

Our students get a free membership with Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP). You receive a HYP Passport, which gives you discounts at your favorite places. And, HYP is a group of young, active, civic-minded professionals who create events and programs that make Harrisburg a great place to live, work, play, and shop. HYP is an influential group in Harrisburg, too, and they coordinate community projects and many kinds of social activities.

Housing Options

You can maintain your own apartment, commute from home, or you can live at the Harrisburg International House, a fully furnished independent student living complex that is one city block from campus. With accommodations more reminiscent of apartments than traditional residence hall rooms, the International House provides a safe and friendly environment. About 25 percent of our students live in these apartments, which are ideal for those who enjoy the independence of college living but seek a more sophisticated and supportive residential environment.
